X starts suspending accounts for AI replies
May 28, 2026: letting an AI reply on its own, as if it were you, becomes a suspension offence.
What happened. X began suspending accounts that let an AI reply on its own while posing as a person. According to PiunikaWeb's report, help with proofreading and grammar remains allowed; what's out is the reply nobody read before it went up.
Earlier the same month X also put daily caps on accounts without a paid plan: 50 posts, 200 replies, 500 direct messages and 400 follows a day, as MediaNama reported.
Why you care. The line X drew is "a human in the loop". A reply you wrote and cleaned up is yours. A reply a model wrote and posted under your name can cost you the account.
What to do with it. 200 replies a day is forty times what you need. Write five good ones.
